Most leaders know what good leadership looks like. What trips them up is doing it under pressure, when old habits take over and the urgent crowds out the important. Our coaching works on the real decisions, relationships and patterns that decide how a leader performs.
It usually begins with evidence: an assessment that shows strengths and areas where they get stuck, and where a few shifts would benefit the most. Our coaches have built businesses and led teams, and they bring the depth that helps clients see beneath the obvious. Some leaders need a confidential partner for problems they can’t take anywhere else; for them we offer one-to-one Executive Coaching or Business Leader coaching.
Others grow best alongside peers who face the same pressures, and for them we run Strengthening Leaders, our senior group coaching programme. Either way, we measure success by one thing: whether people lead differently on Monday morning.
Executive coaching
Leadership is always challenging and it gets more so as responsibility increases
At more senior levels decisions carry greater consequences, relationships become more complex and the pressure to create a successful environment increases. All effective senior leaders learn that the habits which brought them this far aren’t enough for what comes next.
Our executive coaching provides senior leaders with a trusted, challenging partnership where they can think, examine what’s happening and translate insight into action. We combine commercial experience with a deep understanding of behaviour and, through expert assessment, conversation and challenge, we help leaders see patterns, test assumptions and learn about new behaviours available to them.
The aim of coaching is change; our route to helping clients create sustainable new outcomes is to intensify awareness and unlock insights that can lead to different behaviour and judgement.
Every coaching relationship is personal and shaped around the individual. Some leaders are navigating a pivotal transition. Others are working through complexity, decision fatigue, organisational change or the demands of leading at scale. Whatever the context, the work remains practical, reflective and connected to the outcomes that matter.
Coaching creates the space for leaders to develop greater clarity, resilience and self-mastery while remaining accountable for action. It is a purposeful partnership for capable people who want to understand their impact, make better decisions and continue growing as their roles and organisations evolve.
LeaderQ is a short assessment and coaching programme for leaders who need to improve their effectiveness. It’s a practical intervention that works on one or two hinge capabilities.
The problem LeaderQ solves
Most organisations have a number of leaders who are good, but who need help to operate consistently better in one or two key areas. They may be:
preparing for promotion
struggling to lead at the right level
not getting the results they expect from their team
avoiding difficult conversations
over-relying on technical strength instead of leadership
These individual capability gaps are addressed directly, and LeaderQ is designed specifically for this situation. Each leader is assessed on the AshtonQ (either a 360 or self-report version) and receives three sessions of focused coaching on closing critical behaviour gaps.
LeaderQ identifies the one or two shifts that will change a leader’s impact the most and, through coaching and feedback, we work on them intensely over approximately 2½ months.
Strengthening Leaders is a one-year group coaching programme that combines individual and team assessment with feedback and three-weekly online or face-to-face group coaching sessions. It helps managers make practical changes to how they lead, not just to what they know about leadership.
In a recent programme that ran over eleven months, 10 leaders moved from “doing everything themselves” (without delegating or managing) to building teams able to run day-to-day operations, leaving them to manage exceptions and focus on individual or team growth. Managers learned to understand their people better and to slow down rates of talent attrition, and they demonstrated improved skills in delegating confidently and in growing their people. Particular results were noted in improved team structures, team performance and the appointment and development of several next-in-line deputies.
The results showed up in the business
Dormant stock levels halved
Sales almost doubled
Stock-on-hand cut by 30% (one project)
~1,900% return on programme cost (same project)
Deadlines were met more consistently, processes were streamlined and teams developed stronger quality outputs. Various projects were implemented successfully by individual managers or small teams of managers; one project led to a reduction of stock-on-hand by 30% and a return on investment (revenue) against the cost of the Strengthening Leaders programme of around 1,900%.
Perhaps the most valued outcome was one nobody had planned. From working in competitive isolation, the ten leaders became measurably more cooperative and positive in their combined impact as a leadership team.
People receive feedback all day long: new expectations, new resources, restricted options, disruptions, opportunities and challenges. Business leadership is an impossibly complex environment to master, and it makes sense that coaching, with a clear, committed thinking partner, adds value.
Activation Coaching has been developed with our academic research partners, coaches and clients over more than two decades. It’s based on the principles of Gestalt, and the focus is primarily on increasing the individual’s awareness rather than setting goals. It works particularly well in complex, high-level roles where the change involves a new sense of identity rather than simply new actions.
Our coaching often focuses on:
Executive development
Personal & career development
Preparing for a new role
Navigating ambiguity & career transitions
Maintaining career excitement, purpose & fulfilment
Team efficiency & effectiveness
More ways we coach
Specialist coaching
Preparation for new roles & life changes
Specialised-change coaching
Good coaches have the skill to gradually unfold new behaviour and responses but sometimes there’s a need for more urgent or specific change. Our specialised-change coaches are experts at activating change and helping people transition into new landscapes and situations in their lives.
Preparing potential succession candidates
Turning around career-affecting behaviour
Creating impact in new roles
Coaching teams towards being more dynamic & effective
Group & team coaching
We use group coaching with teams to improve their productivity and enhance relationships within the team. Although focused on the group, it also unlocks and amplifies the personal strengths, self-efficacy, leadership qualities and team-building capabilities of individuals. Professional group coaching strengthens team bonds and team alignment.

In their words
What leaders say
One of my most amazing career experiences was the time I spent with Maria (Multiplex Senior Finance Mentor). Her experience and commitment fundamentally changed how I see my CFO role.

Engaging in four sessions of Feedback Activation at Multiplex Partners has been a transformative experience for me. Initially skeptical about the impact of casual conversations, I found the process to be both rigorous and kind, pushing me to think differently about my leadership style. Realising that I was perceived as a cold and analytical leader, I actively worked to increase my executive presence and interpersonal agility. The result? Positive feedback from my team, acknowledging me as a stronger and more present leader.
Senior Executive, European Bank
Embarking on my own feedback activation journey has been genuinely enlightening, inspired by the transformations I’ve observed in my leaders who have gone through the same process. Seeing a resilient leader grow even stronger and more effective amid turbulent times speaks volumes about the genuine impact of the Feedback Activation approach at Multiplex Partners. It’s more than just a tool; it’s a warm catalyst for personal growth.
